Designing and developing a website from scratch can be a challenging task, especially when it involves creating a website for a photography studio with many images and a strong brand identity. When I was tasked with creating a website for Meliora Lifestyle Weddings, I knew that it was not going to be an easy job, especially since they did not have a website before. So here is how I developed their website.

Background

The client is a professional wedding photographer who wanted to create a new website to showcase their style and approach to wedding photography, and that would appeal to couples planning their weddings.

The design

To start the project, I first analyzed the requirements of the website and spent a considerable amount of time understanding the client's brand identity and vision. The design of the website was focused on showcasing the client's stunning wedding photography. A clean and elegant design was chosen to make the photos the focal point of the website. A sticky navigation menu was implemented to make it easy for users to navigate the website. The design was created using Figma.

Development

The website was built using Next.js, a React framework for building server-rendered React applications. Next.js provides a powerful set of features for building high-performance web applications and allows for easy deployment to a variety of hosting platforms. The client's portfolio was implemented using a custom-built React component that pulls data from a local data array. The portfolio page also featured a gallery of photos which the photographer had shot, with a filter option to search by shoot type.

Testing

The website was tested on various devices and browsers to ensure that it looked and functioned correctly. Additionally, the website was tested for performance and accessibility to ensure that it was fast and easy to use for all users.

Launch

The website was launched on schedule and the client was very pleased with the final product. The website received positive feedback from potential clients.

Overall, the project was a success and the client was very happy with the final product. The new website effectively showcases the client's stunning wedding photography and makes it easy for potential clients to contact them for bookings. Using Next.js, React and Tailwind CSS, the website was built to be fast, responsive and accessible, providing an optimal experience for the users.
